There is no greater area for professional sports heroes and “Hall of Famers” in every major and amateur sport, than the City of Oakland. The following is a sample of major league prominent members of the various “Halls of Fame”. We have begun the process which will showcase Oakland Sports History and amateur and professional sports happenings in and near our city. Please note that we have hall of “famers” in other sports both amateur and professional and halls of fame at each of our local high schools and colleges. The following is just a small sample.

Most of his career was with the &ldquoA&rdquos, Mr. October is one of the greatest players of the game and in the Hall of Fame
Catfish Hunter
One of the greatest players of all time and an early Hall of Famer
Joe Morgan
This member of the Hall of Fame is a current ESPN Sportscaster and lives in the Bay Area. He is an alumnus of California State University, Hayward.
Dennis Eckersley
Born in 1954 in Oakland, CA. In his twelve year career, Dennis saved over 400 games, leading his hometown Oakland A&rsquos to the American League West titles and earning both Cy Young and MVP honors in 1992.
