Oakland Museum of California Launches Monthly "Summer Nights" Series


Beginning April 27, OMCA heats up on final Friday nights with extended Museum hours, films, DJs, and eclectic events

OAKLAND, CA---Classic '68 cinema under the stars, DJs on Oak Street Plaza, and sizzling special activities-don't miss the Summer Nights series at the Oakland Museum of California. Held on the final Friday of each month from Friday, April 27 through Friday, October 26, Summer Nights features extended Gallery hours, half-price Museum admission after 5 pm, drink and menu specials in Blue Oak café, book signings in the OMCA Store, and cool music and films straight out of 1968.

Summer Nights Highlights
• Half-price Museum admission after 5 pm
• OMCA Galleries open until 9 pm, including special exhibitions The 1968 Exhibit, All of Us or None: Social Justice Posters of the San Francisco Bay Area, and Modern Cartoonist: The Art of Daniel Clowes
• July 27: Panel discussion with Academy-Award winning graphic novelist Daniel Clowes
• The 1968 Film Series: Classic 1968 cinema under the stars in Oak Street Plaza
• From April to July, Amoeba Music DJs spin hits from the '60s

VISITOR INFORMATION
Museum admission is $12 general $9 seniors and students with valid ID, $6 youth ages 9 to 17, and free for Members and children 8 and under. OMCA offers onsite underground parking and is conveniently located one block from the Lake Merritt BART station, on the corner of 10th Street and Oak Street. The accessibility ramp is located at the new 1000 Oak Street main entrance.
